The Sessions

Laser hair removal requires multiple treatment sessions as we can only remove hair in the growth phase known as anagen. The number of sessions depends on the area to be treated, the thickness and color of the hair, skin type and the specific needs of each patient.

The Duration

The duration depends on the size of the area to be treated. An appointment for the upper lip may take up to 10 minutes, 20 minutes for underarms and bikini and legs around 30 minutes although the actual treatment time is much less.

The Downtime

Sunbathing must be avoided before and after the treatment as well as using self-tanning lotions and discoloring the hair to avoid discoloring of the skin. From the moment treatment starts, avoid the use of tweezers, waxing, electrolysis or any other type of hair removal systems which remove hair by the root. Exercise should be avoided for 48 hours after treatment.

The Consultation

To ensure you are a candidate, a consultation is required before booking your actual laser hair removal session. Leave a minimum of 4 days of hair growth, and be free from waxing or excessive sun exposure in the area to be treated 4 weeks before coming in for a consultation. No retinols or hydroquinone for 5 days prior to appointment having facial area treated. No antibiotics or sun sensitizing medications 72 hours prior to appointment. It is recommended to shave the night before or morning of your full treatment.
